evils: (film ➡ hot fuzz)
Lesson learned: don't ever do more than 50 work hours a week if you're not a manager. There's nothing but pain and sadness. Last week I pulled very close to 60, and lately it's been 40+.

And now it's back down to 20, because I ragequit Tim Horton's and just left. I was going to leave a letter and tell them appropriately that I quit, but they'd not have done the same kindness for me. They never told me anything.

It literally was the breaking point when I, very opportunistically, kept job #2 a secret. So I'd get extra shifts when Kuniyo went to Japan today. And I didn't. They were all given to a random part-timer. And I thought, fuck that! I don't suffer insults lightly.

It's pretty awful when literally every single other working position you've had since or during then is a breeze. Worried about alcoholics at a rock festival? Haha, nah, that's kid's play. There's security!

Picky and angry parents at a Santa set? Just tell them all the free stuff they get and take a few more photos. Santa's an asshole? Not as big an asshole as the taxi cab drivers you get every night. Oh, and the manager there always makes sure I'm in communications and being talked to, making sure stuff is cleared. W o w.

I know after Christmas season is usually a dead period, and I'm pretty prepared to deal with that. I was going to quit this month anyway. It was a calculated move. I've honestly never had a problem snatching up interviews. I'll just have to really go after it the next few months.

In other job-related news, I mentioned to my boss that I was interested in working abroad for a bit, possibly in Australia. She said her cousin ran a large print company firm and he was really begging for people to come work for him, especially her. She said if I had experience in Adobe programs (I do, haha! All those web nerd years paid off!), she'd call him and let him know I want to work there for a bit. SCORE!

I feel bad all I ever talk about is work. Work has literally BEEN my life lately.
